Shuseki Shihan Gil Alstein currently holds the rank of 6th Degree Black Belt in the World Seido Karate Organization. Shuseki Shihan Gil began his training in 1979 under the instruction of Kaicho Tadashi Nakamura and Shuseki Shihan William Oliver.

In 1984 he received his Shodan (first degree black belt). From 1984 until 2000, Shuseki Shihan Gil was a Chief Instructor for the Adult Program and the Director of the Children’s Program at the NYC Honbu (Headquarters) of Seido Karate. From 1985 until 2000, Shuseki Shihan Gil also ran the Children’s program at the West Side YMCA. In his capacity as Chief Instructor, Shuseki Shihan Gil has instructed classes in Japanese karate basics, flexibility, conditioning, sparring, kata (forms), and self defense.

While at Honbu, Shuseki Shihan Gil was also responsible for mentoring assistant instructors, many of whom run their own programs today. Over the course of his career at Honbu, Shuseki Shihan Gil was awarded the Outstanding Assistant Instructor Award three times and in 1996 received the Contribution Award for his service to Seido Karate over the years.

In the year 2000, Shuseki Shihan Gil moved to Florida where he currently resides with his wife and three children and teaches Seido Karate programs at several locations.

Twice each year, Central Florida Seido Karate holds children’s tournaments in which a portion of the proceeds are donated to charities which work with youth in the Central Florida area.

Shuseki Shihan Gil holds a B.S. degree in Physical Education and has taught in both NYC and Seminole County, Florida public schools.
